I enjoy the process of collecting research, metrics, business requirements, strategic and success criteria, task flow, and information architecture and bringing these together to create first lo-fi wireframes and then hi-fi detailed wireframes. These translate into UI designs and comps which can then be used in interactive prototypes for team review and ideally formal user-testing.
Tools for wireframing can be Illustrator, AdobeXD, Axure, Figma, Invision, and more.
AXURE 10 is a favorite tool for prototyping, as it allows variables and scripting which makes advanced features come to life. This was an intranet page being built in Axure.
I also use Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch/InVision and more.
